Repaired (straightened) Carburetor linkage shaft
Deeper than I would have preferred to dig, but absolutely necessary, I had to disassemble the throttle linkage and straighten the shaft.

Mounted a fairing to help organize the garage
I immediately removed this fairing from my KZ550A, the day that I brought it home. It's been sitting on a shelf for a couple years now and I'm trying to get rid of the shelving unit. I took a few pictures of the fairing, with the intent to put it on Craigslist. I decided to take a picture of it as if it were installed on the GT550, and then decided to actually install it. I don't like it but figure it's a good place to store it temporally.

Removed carbs
Even though I have a couple other bikes in line ahead of my GT, curiosity got the best of me. I really wanted to know what had been done with the jetting, considering the intake and exhaust mods.
The main jets were marked 110, 110 and 107.5 with the middle one at 110. It's possible that they were drilled and that the PO didn't bother to deface the numbers, but if not then it's odd that the 107.5 wasn't in the middle. The pilots are all marked 25.

The trade
Today I traded my 1978 Kawasaki KL250 and a parts bike for this 1976 Suzuki GT550A. The KL250 runs pretty good but we only used it on dirt trails because it needed a headlight and wasn't registered for the street. The GT550 "ran when parked" six months ago and needs some carburetor work. I like the fact that it isn't all stock because if it was then I would probably leave it that way. Looking forward to finishing where the PO left off...
